Wednesday 4/16/2008

Get away day has arrived.  The equipment truck was loaded last night.  The Equipment drivers left around 8:00 AM this morning.  The Hagey bus departed NPHS at 10:15.  Travel time is estimated to be around 10 hours.
7:00 PM The group has arrived at the Hotel.  Everyone is checked in.  They are heading to Bob's Big Boy for Dinner at 7:30.  Everyone reading this needs to ask Ryan Truman about how much of a tip they left the waitress.
8:30 PM There was practice in the parking lot of the Hotel.  First stretching and then drill, minus the instruments.  The practice lasted past 10:00.  Then there was free time from 10:30 to 11:30.  The Hotel pool was a popular spot.

Tomorrow there will be practice in the morning / afternoon and then prelim competition at 4:00

Thursday 4/17/2008

Practice began at 10:00 today.  Warm-ups were outside in the bright sunshine.  The weather is perfect today.  The group traveled to the University of Dayton for Prelim performance.  They had a very good performance.  The score was a 89.1 and they were second in their group.  This was 6th overall for open class.  The group is scheduled to perform in Semi-finals tomorrow by 1:00 at the Nutter Center.

The kids came back to the hotel for dinner.  Soup, Hot Roast beef, Pasta Salad and misc. Vegetables.  After dinner sectional practicing will be done in the parking lot of the hotel.
Practice ended at 9:00 PM.  There were Waffles and ice-cream for desert.  Free time from 9:00 to 10:30.   Tomorrow will be a very busy day.

Friday 4/18/2008

Practice began at 8:00 AM this morning.  The practice site is a gym in the Church of Nazarene.  This facility is only one mile from the hotel.  We broke practice at 9:30 and then traveled to the Nutter Center.  Warm up was in the parking lot of the Nutter Center.  This was a beautiful day again today.  Everyone got lots of sun.  
The group had a good solid show and have made it to 'Finals'.  They scored a 89.2 and were 3rd in their group.  This was 7th overall for open class.  
Dinner is scheduled for 5:00 back at the Hotel.  The dinner menu is Salad, Chicken, and a Rice dish.
There will be an evening practice back at the church for 3 hours.
9:00 - Practice is complete.  They had a great run through.  We are heading back to the Hotel.  The kids are very tired.  They are scheduled to be back at the Hotel and in lights our are scheduled for 10:00.  Everyone is looking forward to Finals tomorrow at the University of Dayton.

Saturday 4/19/2008

There was a strong threat of rain today.  Practice began at 7:00 and went until 8:30.  Just as the truck was loaded after practice a slow rain started.  As we drove to the University of Dayton it really started to come down hard.  As we pulled into the parking lot the rain stopped and the sun even peeked out.  Warm up in the parking lot lasted for an hour.  The group put on a excellent performance.  Their score improved to a 90.4 and finished in 7th place.  
Lunch and Dinner were brought in to the the University.  Everyone ate there and then watched the World Class performances.
