The Band 2008 Season Knight of Sound Parents & Students  Fundraising
For Parents, Students,Volunteers, and Significant Others

  Volunteering

The band – and the Music Aides – depends on parent volunteers!  The Marching Band is a complex enterprise involving the training, feeding, photographing, bussing, healing, etc of over 130 students.
Without the considerable help from our many adults, the Marching and Indoor programs would be very expensive for our students. If each family could help out in one or two areas – there will be enough hands to make it fun – not a chore - for everyone!  Some activities go throughout the season – others run for a short time. We’re not looking for an “every day” commitment; work with the coordinator to let them know when you can help out.
For most of these activities, we already have someone who has volunteered to chair or coordinate the activity – but they can’t do ANY of this alone!

Why Volunteer?

  1. It's fun

  2. It's exercise

  3. It's rewarding

  4. You see more of your son or daughter.  He or she is there so you might as well be too!

  5. A great way to get to know other parents

  6. A great way to learn about school issues

  7. It saves you and the band money  (a lot of money)*

  8. We need you

*Many companies will contribute money to NPMK  for each hour a volunteer contributes.

Fundraising Our fundraising coordinators have
come up with a number of fundraisers.
For most of these, we already have the
contacts & materials. We need people
who can help with a specific
fundraising activity – in most cases it
involves simply getting materials to
the students and then tracking as they
turn in money.
A single fundraiser
usually runs for a 2-3
week period. We have
fundraisers every month
Fundries We sell some items to the students “at cost” like practice tee shirts; other items we sell to friends, family, others to make some money. Our
coordinator handles all of the ordering and prep work, but we do need help at all of the events
